Immunology-oriented effects of Su Jok therapy: the Tyumen Municipal Immunorehabilitation and Immunoprophylaxis Center (TMIIC), RUSSIA

The Municipal Immunorehabilitation and Immunoprophylaxis Center of Tyumen is responsible for medical supervision and management of adults and children suffering from chronic and recurrent diseases. This is performed in its day-hospital setting. I have been involved in providing Su Jok therapy-based treatment for the said group of patients since 1995.

A total of 208 persons have undergone the Su Jok therapy within the year 1997, of which 142 (68.3%) belonged to the in-patient group.

Of this group, 84 patients (59.2%) complained of bronchopulmonary pathology (bronchial asthma, recurrent pneumonia, bronchitidis, ARVI). Group of patients suffering from atopic dermatitis amounted to 8 persons (5.6%); from furunculosis - 10 persons (7.0%); from osteochondrosis - 13 persons (9.2%). Twenty seven sick patients had troubles with the urinary system (cystitis, pyelonephritis, enuresis) (fig. 1).

From the total number of those who underwent treatment, the children population amounted to 83 (58.5%) patients, while the adult one included 59 (41.5%) patients.

One half of the patients were subjected to acupuncture, while another half underwent magnetotherapy and seeds therapy. Available diagrams can show the effectiveness of the application of Su Jok therapy in the in-patient group (fig. 2).

We have come to realize that the method of Su Jok therapy has proved efficient for immunoreconditioning of patients with chronic diseases of respiratory tract, skin, nervous and urinary systems. Su Jok therapy has become the procedure of choice in dealing with osteochondrosis.
